- 1 tsp of olive oil
- 1 small red onion, chopped into small pieces
- 1 tsp of ginger + finely chopped garlic
- 1 bag of Ridetti refried beans 227g
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup of oatmeal
- 1 tsp of red chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Heat up the oil in a frying pan; add the onions and cook until very golden.
- Add the ginger + garlic and cook for another minute. Turn off the heat and let cool.
- In a big bowl, combine the beans, flour, oatmeal, bread crumbs, red chili powder, salt and peper. Mix well.
- Add the mix of onion and mix well until it holds together when squeezed.
- Divide mix into 6 little cakes of the same size.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium heat, place the cakes in it, and cook undisturbed for about 3 – 4 minutes. Flip and cook on the other side until a golden crust forms on both sides.
